We were having pleasant discussion and this lovely person from Longview in a pirate suit appeared and asked if we wanted tickets to Carnaval. We looked at each other and she interjected, “I’m not trying to sell them. Our friends from Longview couldn’t make it. We just want someone to go and enjoy Carnaval!”
What could we say?

It was quite a spectacle of sight and sound. There were drums and bands and headdresses and drums and merriment and drums. Can you feel that Samba beat?

I plan to post more pics from the party when I get the time to do more editing and censoring. This was not a tame event and not a place for children. As I have no children and I love to take photos of spectacles, I think I was in the right place.

Saturday night’s Santa rampage was a rampaging success with over 300 Santas in this one gathering.

Tonight, December 2008 13th 7p-?

Dress to impress (Santa style) and join us (other Santas, Mrs. Claus, Elves, Reindeer) as we march across
Congress Bridge and Elf-slap downtown Austin upside it’s Santa infested head!

Location: Meeting at Fiddlerʼs Hearth, 301 Barton Springs for Santa Drink Specials and a Santa Buffet for only $8.

All North Pole inhabitants are welcome to join us as we dine  and then head to the Warehouse District.

Where can Santa park? The entire 2nd floor of the parking garage next to Fiddler’s Hearth will be free…the other floors are run by Embassy are not generally towed (Santa’s own risk).  Personally, I suggest you take a cab as Santas on the rampage have been known to overindulge to get just the right shade of rosey cheeks.

The Santa Rampage Parade  will leave Fiddler’s Hearth around 8pm-ish.   We  will cross Congress Bridge to CIty Hall down Cesar Chavez and hit the Warehouse District:  Rainbow Cattle Company, Oil Can Harryʼs, Buffalo Billiards, Coyote Ugly, Driscoll (Call),Gingerman (Call),  and whatever other establishment get in our way…End at Elysium.

Square Patrol will be getting people get ride home
